Mourners pay last respects to Kristine Bartman
More than 300 mourners and between 200 and 300 motorcycles, along with more than 75 police officers from various area departments, showed up at the Boylan Funeral Home on Evans City Road in Connoquenessing Township to pay their respects to the family of Kristine Bartman.
Bartman, 30, was a police officer with the Evans City-Seven Fields Regional Police Department. She was killed on July 13th while driving her motorcycle on the Liberty Bridge in Pittsburgh.
After the funeral, Bartman's flag-draped coffin was placed into a special transparent hearse that was pulled by a three-wheeled motorcycle. The huge procession, which represented Bartman's “last ride,” traveled through Evans City, Mars and Seven Fields before ending at the Evans City Cemetery for Bartman's burial service.
STAT Medevac and LifeFlight helicopters flew over the burial proceedings in honor of Bartman.
Bartman was the wife of Zachary Bartman. The couple, who started a fitness coaching business in June, lived in Jackson Township.
