Boy hurts head in accident at Alameda Water Park
BUTLER TWP — A preteen boy was injured about 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alameda Water Park.
The boy was coming down the blue side in the four-foot area of the pool when he hit his head on the top part of the slide in a whiplash-like manner near the end of the slide, according to Ashley Helmstaedter, pool program and aquatic manager.
“He just picked his head up too fast,” said Helmstaedter, who added that she thinks the boy is from Butler.
The boy was put on a backboard and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by Butler Ambulance.
He was conscious the entire time.
“The last I knew he was doing fine,” Helmstaedter said.
