Blown tire causes turnpike traffic backup

CRANBERRY TWP - A man and a woman were taken to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure after their van hit a guide rail and rolled over on the westbound lane of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The accident happened at about 3 p.m. near mile marker 27.6 in Cranberry Township.

Traffic still is backed up while firefighters clean up and the van is towed.

Police at the scene say a blown tire was the cause of the crash.
