Mother accused of stabbing her son
SLIPPERY ROCK — A 38-year-old mother is accused of stabbing her son after he tried to intervene in a fight between her and another woman.
According to court records, Gabriel Vanmeter told investigator that his mother, Nicole L. Fiddler, and her friend Elizabeth Madison were heavily intoxicated and fighting Friday evening.
Vanmeter said when he attempted to intervene, Fiddler cut his left hand and wrist with a knife, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by state police.
Court records say when state police arrived at the 448 Slippery Rock Road home about 7:20 p.m., Vanmeter was bleeding.
Fiddler is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Fiddler, who is in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond, is to have a preliminary hearing today before District Judge William O’Donnell.
