Alameda set to host events this week
The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will host events this week at Alameda Park in Butler Township.
Visitors wearing red, white and blue to Alameda Waterpark Monday will receive half-off admission.
The free Family Summer Concert Series will feature Rock Jazz Trio at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Odd Fellows Gazebo.
School Daze will feature Karns City and Seneca Valley schools Wednesday at Alameda Waterpark. Students will receive half-off admission by wearing clothing with their school name or logo or by presenting school identification. Different schools are featured weekly.
Alameda Waterpark will celebrate Christmas in July on Wednesday. Visitors wearing an ugly Christmas sweater will receive half-off admission. There will be a contest for the ugliest sweater at 2:30 p.m. The winner will receive two free admissions.
Christmas in July will continue with crafting wood pallet Christmas trees at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Pine Shelter. The event will be limited to 20 participants. To register, call the parks and recreation office at 724-284-5383.
The free Outdoor Discovery Series will offer entertaining and mysterious “AL-Mazing Magic” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Carousel Shelter.
Alameda Story Adventures for children 6 and younger will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Rotary Shelter. This program is free and no registration is required.
The Moonlight Swim and Dive-In Movie will be from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at Alameda Waterpark and include a showing of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” There will be a fee for nonmembers.
