Grove City has concerts in park

GROVE CITY — The borough plans activities in July and August.

The borough hosts a slate of artists and bands in the Joseph D. Monteleone Youth Festival Park for the Downtown Sounds Concert Series.

The performances run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month through September. Check the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce’s website www.grovecityareachamber.com/calendar for details.

On July 4, from 8 to 11 p.m., the borough will host Fireworks Over Grove City at Forker Field at Grove City High School, to celebrate the national holiday. The Harrisville Community Band will perform at 8 p.m.; fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

From Aug. 26 to 28 the borough will host the biannual Camp Maxwell living history event at Grove City Memorial Park.

The event honors Gen. Normal Maxwell and is organized by the Western Pennsylvania Civil War Re-enactors Society in conjunction with other living history groups from Western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
