Flood aid being collected
BUTLER TWP — West Central Equipment on Route 8 is accepting donations for the flood victims in West Virginia.
The company is taking items such as water, diapers and bleach.
Items can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Randy Reamer of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company, who is a company employee, is one of the volunteers who will travel to the Charleston, W.Va., area to deliver the items.
“If something like that were to happen here, you'd want people to come help you, so I'd just like to go help out,” he said.
Reamer, along with his wife, Jennifer, and Kip Johnston, his wife, Lee, and their children, Sammi and Luke, will make the trip in two pickup trucks, each hauling a trailer. They will leave Monday.
The crew will stay at the Big Otter Volunteer Fire Company in Ivydale, W.Va., and will give out cases of bottled water, cleaning supplies, clothing, paper products, and diapers, among other items.
Reamer said, “We appreciate everyone's time and donations and everything else,” he said.
