Butler residents can get a preview next week of the murals that the Walldogs will paint in the city in July.

The 10 mural designs will be debuted to the public from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 30 at the Senator Walter Lowrie House, 123 W. Diamond St.

“Everybody’s so excited (the Walldogs are) coming, and they wonder what they’re going to put on the walls, and this is going to show them what’s coming,” said Pat Collins, Butler County Historical Society executive director.

The society is bringing in the Walldogs, who are muralists from around the world, from July 27 to 31, to paint murals representing the county’s history on 10 buildings in the city.

The designs were created by the projects’ leaders.

At the June 30 event the murals and the buildings that will be painted will be shown.

Volunteers are still needed to help assist the artists with finding their way around town, cleanup and housing, among other duties.
