CRANBERRY TWP — The Center for Community Resources, headquartered in downtown Butler with its sister company Alliance for Nonprofit Resources, now has an office in Cranberry Township.

The office in the township municipal center recently had an open house to let residents of Cranberry and the surrounding communities know they can access services the center provides closer to home.

The satellite office, for now, will not be staffed on a regular basis, but instead is used for meetings and appointments.

The center has more than 200 employees who help people with a variety of services.

“We help people from birth to death and everywhere in between,” said Tammy Rose, family information specialist.

Services offered include early intervention, intellectual disabilities support, behavioral health rehabilitation, student assistance program, drug and alcohol case management, crisis intervention, volunteer income tax assistance and mental health, drug and alcohol and gambling prevention and education.

Before the satellite office opened in April, people in southwestern Butler County would have to drive to Butler for appointments. And some people were unaware of all the services offered by the center, Rose said.

Anyone interested in its services can call the center at 724-431-3748 to request an appointment.

The office, next to the office for state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, was previously used for storage.
