HARMONY — Historic Harmony has elected a new vice president and appointed a new board member.

Rodney Gasch is the new vice president, succeeding Cathy Rape, who resigned in April.

Paul Chmara was appointed to the board to fill the seat vacated by Gasch’s elevation.

Gasch, 63, is a freelance writer-producer. The Forward Township resident was elected to a three-year board term that began in January 2014.

He is president of Latin American Children’s Fund and has been active with Washington’s Trail 1753.

Chmara, 62, is a former Harmony resident who now lives in Cranberry Township.

He is a retired North Allegheny School District principal who previously taught art and was department chair in the Seneca Valley School District. He is also president of the University of Pittsburgh School of Education Alumni Society.

[naviga:h3]Golf benefits St. Barnabas fund[/naviga:h3]

GIBSONIA — A day on the greens at the Butler Country Club raised $120,878 for the St. Barnabas free care fund.

The St. Barnabas Charitable Golf Open on June 6 had more than 200 golfers in a morning and afternoon field. It also had a lunch, a silent auction, and a gourmet dinner and awards program.

The winning foursome, with a low net score of 140, was Kim Bolam, Jason Cannon, Rick Contrella and Josh Smith.

St. Barnabas now is accepting registrations for the Sept. 12 St. Barnabas Charities Fall Classic at the country club. For information, visit StBarnabasGolf.com or call 724-625-3770.

Since the first open in 1988, more than $2.1 million has been raised for the St. Barnabas free care fund.
