GRADUATES
Krista Snyder of West Sunbury received a bachelor's degree in neuroscience and philosophy from Ursinus College.
While at Ursinus, she received the Teresa L. Urban Leadership Award for outstanding leadership and the Olive Sargeant Hamm Award for exemplifying the best in college life athletically, socially and academically.
She also was an NCAA DIII national qualifier in track and field. She holds six school records in track and field.
Snyder is a 2012 graduate of Moniteau High School. She is the daughter of George and Vanessa Snyder of West Sunbury.

Michael Friters of Boynton Beach, Fla., graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine as a doctor of osteopathic medicine.He is a 1991 graduate of Karns City High School. He received a bachelor's degree in computer science from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1995.Friters is a former U.S. Army Air Defense Officer and the former executive director of The Washington Post Co.He is employed by Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Fla. He will pursue critical care medicine following an internal medicine residency.Friters is the husband of Gwynne and the father of Tyler and Alexandra. He is the son of Christy and Patrick Friters, formerly of Karns City.—–—
Jessica Mathew of Erie received a master's of education degree in curriculum and instruction from Gannon University.She is a 2007 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and a 2011 graduate of Mercyhurst College.She is a family and consumer science teacher for Harbor Creek High School.Mathew is engaged to Ryan Neal of Erie. She is the daughter of Drew and Gert Mathew of Zelienople.—–—
Katherine Furl of Gibsonia graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in English from Allegheny College.She was an Alden Scholar, was awarded honors for her senior project and received the Trustee Scholarship.Furl plans to study psychology and sociology in graduate school at the University of Chicago in the fall.She is a 2012 graduate of Mars High School. She is the daughter of Beverly and Brent Furl of Gibsonia.—–—
Matthew A. Smith of Fenelton graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Allegheny College.He was an Alden Scholar and was on the dean's list from 2013 to 2016.He is a 2012 graduate of Butler High School. He is the son of Jeff and Beth Smith of Fenelton.———
Anthony Thomas Conn of Weirton, West Va., graduated cum laude and received a bachelor's degree in communication from Waynesburg University.He is a member of the communication honor society, Lambda Pi Eta.He is a television news reporter/multimedia journalist at WTOV News 9 in Steubenville, Ohio.Conn is a 2012 graduate of Moniteau High School. Stephen Rodgers of Pittsburgh received a bachelor's degree in business administration with a double major in finance and accounting from Duquesne University.While at Duquesne, he was vice president of Beta Alpha Psi, the international honor organization for financial information students and professionals. He also served as vice president of the Financial Management Association.During his sophomore year, he studied at Duquesne's Italian campus in Rome and traveled to many European countries.Rodgers completed an internship with Schneider Downs, an accounting firm in Pittsburgh, and has accepted a position there. He also will study for licensure as a certified public accountant.He is a 2012 graduate of Butler High School.
