Butler man's body went through recycling truck
YORK, York County — The former Butler County resident, whose body was discovered in a recycling processing plant Saturday, had been dead for several days, according to results from an autopsy performed by the office of York County Coroner Pam Gay.
Gay said Wednesday that Randall Rich, 59, had gone through the recycling processing truck and that some of his injuries occurred after he had died.
Gay said that police identified the body using fingerprints.
She said there was no foul play involved in his death, but that she would not know the cause of death until toxicology test results are available, probably in 60 to 90 days.
Workers at Penn Waste recycling plant found Rich’s body when they went to work on Saturday.
Gay also confirmed that Rich had immediate family in York, with whom she spoke.
Rich had been staying at an apartment on Campbell Street in Butler until he was evicted June 1.
