Jeep festival will affect traffic Friday
The Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival parade Friday on Main Street will shut down much of Main Street to traffic starting at 5 p.m.
Parking on Main Street will not be allowed after 3 p.m. and Main Street, between Pearl and Wayne streets, will be closed to traffic at 5 p.m.
Traffic will be routed to McKean and Washington streets.
Some side streets also will affected by parade.
Brian Steffy, PennDOT District 10 assistant construction engineer, said that Folino Construction hopes to have the majority of the Main Street paving work finished by Friday morning.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate at night, they may have to do some paving work during the day Thursday.
In past years, Jeeps started arriving in the city Friday morning, so the department plans to have construction crews finished by then, he said.
Folino has been paving Main Street from the General Butler Bridge to Penn Street since May 16.
