CRANBERRY TWP — The township supervisors Thursday night approved a Best Western Plus Hotel for Cranberry Springs Drive near the intersection with Mars Road.

The 67,910-square-foot hotel will sit on 2.2 acres. There is currently a house on the property, which will be torn down.

The hotel will be six stories and have 101 rooms and the same number of parking spaces.

It is being developed by Nittany Hotel Group of Pittsburgh.

Approval of the plans were delayed one month, because neighboring property owner Gary Sippel did not agree to grant easements for utility lines on his land.

The two landowners resolved the dispute by agreeing to a lot line revision where the plan was shifted 20 feet to the east and 10 feet to the north, said Ron Henshaw, township director of planning and development services.

The developer plans to start construction this year.
