Edinboro names president
EDINBORO — An administrator at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York has been tapped to lead Edinboro University.
H. Fred Walker will become the university's 18th president on July 1. Walker was introduced on campus Monday morning after his unanimous selection by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
Walker is the dean of the Rochester Institute of Technology College of Applied Science and Technology and was previously a professor at the University of Southern Maine in Portland, Maine. He has a doctorate in industrial education and technology from Iowa State University.
He succeeds Julie Wollman, who resigned to become president of Widener University in Chester.
Edinboro, about 20 miles south of Erie, has 5,200 undergrads and 1,300 graduate students.
