Seneca Valley Middle School student Emma Reynolds shows one of two ducks she raised from eggs as part of the district’s gifted education program Purpose Enrichment. Emma researched the best breed of duck to use in her project, ordered 15 eggs, and used a flashlight to determine which eggs were viable. The 11 viable eggs were placed in a turntable set at a precise temperature and humidity, and two of the eggs hatched several weeks later. Emma named the ducks Daisy and Donald.
