CABOT UNITED METHODIST

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The Bikes To Hope committee at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will meet at 7 p.m. today.

There will be one worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Blessing of the Bikes will be in the lower parking lot at 11 a.m. Sunday. Lunch will be served following the blessing.

Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will show the movie “War Room” immediately following Sunday morning worship. Lunch will be provided.

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

The deadline for the men’s “Skeet and Eat” is Sunday.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper during the Sunday worship service. An offering to support the Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly will be received. There will be a potluck lunch afterward in the assembly room.

There will be a screening of the Academy Award winning film “Spotlight” at 4 p.m. Saturday in the assembly room. The topic of the film is the Boston Globe’s 2002 investigation of the child abuse scandal and cover-up in Boston.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will participate in a women’s spring retreat at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call the church at 724-287-7241.

Sunday’s service schedule will include Sunday school, a morning worship service and a luncheon. Bill Smith will give a mission trip presentation during a worship service at 1 p.m.

FIRST BAPTIST OF EVANS CITY

The youth group of First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, will meet at 7 p.m. Friday at the church.

GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Congregants of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, should wear red Sunday to help celebrate Pentecost.

Those participating in the summer youth mission trip and their parents will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday. The discussion will include final trip details.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

The fellowship and service committee of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will meet at 10 a.m. Friday in the ladies lounge.

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and from 5 to 7 p.m. May 19.

The women’s spring banquet will be at 5 p.m. Sunday. Take a dish to share. Entertainment will follow the meal.

Church members will lead worship for adult day care program participants at LIFE Butler County at 11 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

The church council will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Amber Crowe and Jason Ellenberger will provide the special music in the Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Pentecost will be celebrated during the Sunday service at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. Participants will wear red as part of the recognition.

Today is the deadline for reservations for Senior Night Out at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

The Yellow Ribbon Girls are collecting toiletries and other items to include in care packages for those serving overseas in the military.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The stewardship committee of Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will meet at 7:30 p.m. today at the office.

The confirmation class will be received into the church membership at the 11 a.m. Sunday service.

The Christian education and membership meeting will be at 12:15 p.m. Sunday.

The youth group will resume at 5:30 p.m. Sunday for middle school and 7 p.m. for high school.

The final GriefShare meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

The youth group of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will volunteer Saturday at the Allegheny County Special Olympics Summer Games.

Sunday the church will celebrate Pentecost and participants will wear red.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, will recognize Pentecost Sunday, and the congregation will wear red. First Communion for children also will be Sunday.

There will be a cleanup day at 9 a.m. May 21.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will celebrate the Lord’s Supper during worship on Pentecost Sunday. Attendees will wear red to celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The mission offering for May will be for the Butler County Community Health Clinic.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will celebrate Holy Communion during the Sunday worship service.

The church council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will serve Holy Communion at all weekend worship services.

Second-year confirmation students will be confirmed at the 10:15 a.m. Sunday worship service. There will be a reception after the service.

The bell choir will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The sanctuary choir will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

SUMMIT PRESBYTERIAN

Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, will host a Central Blood Bank blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Sunday worship service will be followed by small group studies for all ages.

The youth group will meet at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Articles for the Summit Herald are due Monday.

Those who ordered hoagies from the youth group may pick up their orders Wednesday.

The church office of Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will be closed Friday.

There will be blood-pressure screenings after the worship service Saturday and between the two services Sunday.

The senior exercise class will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday in room 108. The class is free.

There will be a Holden evening prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The ladies quilting group will meet at 9 a.m. May 19.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, will offer a new member class and lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Sign up in the lounge or contact the church office to make a reservation.

A vacation Bible school planning meeting will be at 11 a.m. Sunday. Those helping with Bible school should attend also.
