Pioneer golfer Dimun wins title
Butler County Community College sophomore golfer Tommy Dimun placed first in the individual standings at the NJCAA Region XX Golf Championships, held Monday and Tuesday at The Links at Spring Church.
Dimun, a Butler High School graduate, fired a 151 (77-74) in the 36-hole event, helping the Pioneers place second out of five teams with 647 strokes. Anne Arundel College placed first at 619.
Also scoring for BC3 were Alec Geibel (162), Noah Spang (165) and Nathan Falchetti (169).
Dimun advances to the national tournament, to be held in Chautauqua, N.Y., next month. The top 18 finishers there will be recognized as All-Americans. He earned that distinction last year by placing 16th.
