Morning crash closes I-80 eastbound lanes
CLINTON TWP, Venango County — The eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 are closed following an early morning crash involving a tractor-trailer.
State police in Franklin report the tractor-trailer driven by Gennadiy Kreymerman, 61, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was disabled after losing a drive tire.
According to police, a tanker truck driven by Kenneth Wayne Hogue, 51, of Salem, Ohio, also was eastbound on the highway when it hit the drive tire, causing the tanker to hit the tractor-trailer at 1:40 a.m.
The tanker then hit the guard rail and overturned, spilling roughly 3,600 gallons of water and oil waste.
Neither driver was injured. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
Crews have been cleaning the spill since the crash occurred.
State police were assisted by the Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, Emlenton Ambulance and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
