Crash sends one to hospital, one to jail

A three-vehicle crash in the 400-block of Lindsay Road in Jackson Township Thursday evening sent one man to the hospital and another one to jail.

Township police Chief Terry Seilhamer said Sean Lutz, 29, of Evans City was arrested for driving under the influence after he and two other drivers were involved in the crash.

Lutz was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry to have his blood drawn. He was later released and will later have charges filed against him, Seilhamer said.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash as of Friday afternoon.

The crash injured a 58-year-old Pittsburgh man who was taken to Allegheny General Hospital with “moderate” injuries.

Volunteers for the Harmony Fire District removed the entrapped man from his Jeep Patriot in about 12 minutes. The man was then transported to the hospital via Harmony EMS.

A 30-year-old Punxsutawney woman driving a Toyota RAV4 was also involved in the crash. She was not injured.
