Crash victim died
WINFIELD TWP — A Clay Township woman injured in a motorcycle accident died today, two days after the Sunday night crash.
Michelle Lee Miller, 44, of Clay Township, a passenger on the cycle, was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital with head injuries.
State police, who are investigating the crash, confirmed Miller died this morning.
Friends say Miller, the mother of a teenaged daughter, worked at Birch’s Barbecue on Chestnut Street.
The cycle’s driver, Thomas A. McKee Sr., 58, of Clearfield Township, was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital with injuries described as “moderate,” according to a state police report.
Troopers said the couple was eastbound on Winfield Road about 8:50 p.m. when a deer ran in front of their 2010 Harley Davidson, forcing McKee to lay down the cycle at the intersection of Cornplanter Road.
Neither rider was wearing a helmet.
