Police look for suspected serial check bouncer
CHICORA — State police are searching for a suspected serial check bouncer.
The alleged scammer, 39-year-old Jamal Williams, in what police believe to be his most recent crime, left a bad check for $1,240 at Parker’s Appliance on North Main Street in Chicora.
Authorities said Williams on April 5 told a sales manager at the store that he wanted to buy an expensive television.
He made his purchase using a business check under the name “Strike First Paint Ball Extreme.” Police later learned the check was written on a closed account.
Investigators believe Williams has passed bad checks at other locations in Butler County.
Police described Williams as a black man. Anyone with information of his whereabouts is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.
