Butler Police3:32 a.m. Sunday — Caleb C. Craig, 19, of Butler Township was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was stopped for speeding at Cunningham and South Main streets.Police said while speaking to Craig they smelled a “strong door” of alcohol on his breath. They also suspected his 17-year-old passenger, who authorities did not identify, was impaired by alcohol.A breath test showed Craig’s blood-alcohol level was 0.149 percent. A level of .08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Craig is charged with DUI, driving under the influence with a minor in the vehicle, minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system, underage drinking, a red light violation and driving at an unsafe speed.Police also charged the 17-year-old with underage drinking.4:22 a.m. Saturday — Christopher R. Hartmann Sr., 39, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted Danielle Rearick during a domestic dispute at their home on Third Avenue. He is accused of spitting in Rearick’s face and grabbing her by the hair and trying to drag her outside.Hartmann was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.Police also charged John H. Slick Jr., 28, of Tarentum, Allegheny County, who they found with a suspected crack cocaine pipe while investigating the incident at Hartmann’s home. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.12:34 a.m. Saturday — Kristi M. Angert, 34, of Butler Township lost control of her car on the snow while turning and hit a fire hydrant at Center and Brown avenues.When she backed up the car to get it off the sidewalk, she hit and damaged a city-owned street sign. She was not cited.
