Woman charged with providing fatal dose of drugs

A Butler County woman is accused of selling heroin that resulted in the September 2015 death of a Donegal Township man.

State police today charged Julia L. Zaludek, 25, with, among other charges, drug delivery resulting in death.

Police allege Zaludek on Sept. 18 sold 33-year-old Joshua Lee Stitt stamp bags of heroin — marked with the label “Hit and Run” — that he injected. Stitt, a 14-year veteran bricklayer, later overdosed at his home and died in the ambulance on his way to Butler Memorial Hospital.

A toxicology report subsequently determined that Stitt died of a combined heroin and fentanyl overdose, police said.

In court records, investigators allege Stitt used his 4-year-old son's iPad to arrange drug deals with Zaludek on a nearly daily basis, including one the day before he died.

A complete report will appear in Tuesday's Butler Eagle.
