Butler PoliceTuesday — John J. Halagich, 39, of East Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last month at East Cunningham and South McKean streets. Police about 10 p.m. March 12 stopped his car after they spotted a “large amount” of fluid leaking from the undercarriage, court documents said. The smell of gasoline was so strong that officers called the Butler Fire Department to assist.Police suspected Halagich was impaired. He was arrested and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test after failing field sobriety tests. Officers also learned that the registration was expired on the vehicle.Toxicology reports received, documents said, showed Halagich had several drugs in his system, including marijuana, anti-anxiety prescription medication, methadone and metabolites of cocaine, codeine and heroin.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, he is charged with driving with a suspended license-DUI related, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance and driving without valid inspection.
Butler Twp PoliceTuesday — Barry P. Anderson, 64, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop just after midnight March 13 on Whitestown Road. Anderson is charged with driving under the influence, careless driving and failing to keep right.6 p.m. March 30 — Anthony L. Lisotto, 30, and Michelle Dessecker, 39, both of Butler, were caught at the Butler Commons’ Walmart, where they each had previously been barred. Police cited both suspects for defiant trespass.
State Police, Butler2:51 a.m. Sunday — An unknown suspect tried to break into a basement door at a home on the 200 block of Keck Road in Summit Township. A burglar alarm alerted authorities of the attempted break-in.
State Police, ClarionSunday — A 52-year-old Emlenton man is suspected of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy at a home in Perry Township, Clarion County. Police said the investigation is ongoing, and they did not identify the suspect.
State Police, KittanningMarch 29 — Police charged Chase L. Rogers, 30, of Kittanning after he was found with a gun in his vehicle following a traffic stop about 11:30 a.m. March 20 on Bunker Hill Road in North Buffalo Township.Rogers is charged with possession of a firearm without a concealed carry license, a misdemeanor. He also was cited for driving without valid inspection.
State Police, MercerTuesday — A burglar stole a Yamaha all-terrain vehicle from the West Penn Forestry Co. on Route 258 in Pine Township, Mercer County. Anyone with information is to call 724-662-6162.
