Social Security aid offered TuesdayLYNDORA — Social Security employees will be at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave., from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday to assist anyone interested in creating a My Social Security account.My Social Security is a free, online account that allows quick and secure access to your personal Social Security information.Those who do not receive benefits can obtain a Social Security statement, estimate their benefits and view their earnings record.Those who receive benefits can obtain a benefit verification letter, check payment information, change an address, start or change direct deposit information, get a replacement 1099 and get a replacement Medicare card.

Saint Andrews sets yard saleSaint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will have an indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 8 and 9.The bag sale will start at 1 p.m. April 9. Use the Cliff Street entrance.

Baby sitter’s training plannedThe Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will offer the Safe Sitter baby sitter’s training from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 9 at Slippery Rock Park Building, 320 N. Main St., Slippery Rock.The class is for children ages 11 to 15 and will emphasize prevention, safety, responsibility, leadership and professionalism.Registration is required. The cost will include books and materials. Successful students will receive a course certificate.Classes fill quickly. Families Forever seminar offeredA Families Forever seminar, offered by Lifesteps, will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 16 at Lifesteps, 300 Stirling Village.Families Forever teaches parents how to minimize the negative effects on children involved in divorce and/or custody situations.To register, call Lifesteps at 724-283-1010.Notices should be received by the Community Department a week in advance of the event.
