ADAMS TWP — J. Dayle Ferguson, Mars School Board president, has been named the Paul Harris Award winner for community service. The award is given by the Rich-Mar Rotary.
Ferguson was selected for her dedication to the school district and the community, according to Rotary officer Ken Fleeson.
“Ferguson is a shining example of ‘service above self,’” Fleeson said. “She values community input, so she has had countless conversations in her driveway, in the grocery store, on the phone and in other informal groups.”
He said Ferguson can also be found attending numerous Mars sporting events, performances, academic competitions, and other school activities.
Ferguson was elected to the board in 2006. She was appointed vice president in 2010 and president in 2012. The Adams Township resident is a marketing communications specialist at Schmidt Market Research in Pittsburgh.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and English from John Carroll University in Cleveland.
