2-vehicle crash injures 1
CRANBERRY TWP — A two-vehicle crash on Rochester Road Saturday sent one person to the hospital and closed a portion of the road.
Emergency crews said that shortly after 8 p.m., a Nissan Sentra crashed into a Chevrolet Cavalier at the intersection of Rochester and Graham School Roads.
The driver of the Cavalier was taken to Allegheny General Hospital by ambulance.
“We had to force the driver side door open to get the driver out,” said Sean Hayden, a township fire department lieutenant.
The front of the Sentra had heavy damage while the Cavalier had heavy passenger side damage.
“I don’t think they (injuries) were serious,” township police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino said.
Neither driver was identified.
Rochester Road was closed between Thompson Park Drive and Robinhood Drive for about an hour.
One side of the road heading west was opened shortly after 9 p.m.
A tow truck removed both vehicles before 10 p.m.
Cranberry Township EMS also assisted.
Mascellino said the crash is under investigation and charges are pending.
