MARS — James M. Hein has been named senior vice president, finance of Mars National Bank.
He oversees the finance, deposit and technology operations activities at the bank.
Hein joined Mars National as vice president, controller in 2010. He has over 25 years of banking and finance experience.
A Ross Township resident, Hein serves on the Board of Genesis Pittsburgh.
[naviga:h3]Northwest Bank buys Best Insurance[/naviga:h3]
Best Insurance Agency of Butler has been bought by Northwest Bank, effective April 1.
As part of the acquisition, Best principals Don Best, Carol Best McClean, Mike Reese and Ray Rosenbauer will continue to operate from their office at 340 S. Main St. as representatives of Northwest.
Best will help expand personal insurance for the bank which covers Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and Maryland.
Reese and Rosenbauer will provide employee benefits and property casualty insurance to commercial clients in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Rick McClean will retire at the time of the merger.
In making the announcement, Douglas H. Bert, senior vice president, Insurance Services of Northwest, said, “We’re pleased to welcome the Best Insurance Agency and their strong management team as members of the Northwest family.”
In its 100th year, Best Insurance provides insurance to individuals, families and businesses in Butler and the surrounding area.

CRANBERRY TWP — Continuum, an IT management platform company, has named Ray Cappola as vice president of Help Desk, the company’s U.S.-based technology service center.
Cappola has been in senior technical service delivery leadership positions at many technology firms including Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett Packard and Teradata, where he was director of global customer support.
Continuum’s Help Desk in Cranberry Township supports more than 50,000 users for the small and medium-sized business clients.
The company has 1,200 employees worldwide.

FREEDOM, Beaver County — George Moving & Storage was named a 2015 Gold Pursuit of Excellence award winner by North American Van Lines and North American Movers Association Quality Committee.
The company has been providing local and interstate moving services to the Pittsburgh region and Ohio for 40 years. It provides corporate relocation, moving of household goods, and office and industrial moving services.
