Butler Police2:38 p.m. Monday — Michael Lee Hutchinson, 20, of Butler was caught with 47 stamp bags of suspected heroin in the 500 block of South Chestnut Street following his arrest on two bench warrants.Hutchinson was arraigned on felony and misdemeanor charges of drug possession, and placed in Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail. He also is being held on the warrants.Butler County Court records show that one warrant for Hutchinson was issued Tuesday after he failed to appear for a court hearing in a misdemeanor drug case, and the other on March 14 after he failed to appear for court hearings in a domestic violence case.1:15 a.m. Thursday — Police investigated a call for a gunshot fired on Mercer Street near Wood Street but found but found nothing suspicious.A neighbor told police he was home when he heard two men arguing outside. A short time later, he heard what he believed was gunfire. Police searched but found no one. They also did not find any shell casings.Wednesday — Police obtained a felony arrest warrant for Tina M. Budner, 45, of Lyndora, stemming from a shoplifting incident earlier this month at a store in the Pullman Square shopping plaza.Budner is accused of stealing two bottles of perfume valued at a combined $35. Store surveillance video later helped identify her, according to court documents. Because she has at least three prior shoplifting convictions, she is charged with a felony count of retail theft.Following one of those prior arrests, which happened at the same Kmart, Budner was advised she was no longer permitted at the store. Along with retail theft, police charged her with trespass.

Middlesex Twp PoliceThursday — Vernon L. Wise III, 57, was arrested on charges he assaulted and threatened his wife during a domestic dispute the previous night at the couple’s home on East Drive in Penn Township.Wise is accused of slapping Cheri Wise on the face, which caused her head to hit a bed rail shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday. The alleged victim told police that her husband also threatened to kill her, according to court documents.Police said Cheri Wise suffered minor injuries including redness and bruising around her left eye.The defendant, when questioned by police, said he was protecting himself from his wife throwing objects at him.District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Wise on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He is free on $30,000 unsecured bail.Wise is president of the Eagle Printing Co.

State Police, ButlerTuesday — Clayton A. Geibel Jr., 52, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a 4:23 p.m. March 1 traffic stop on Route 422 east at Carbon Center Road in Clearfield Township.In addition to driving under the influence, Geibel is charged with careless driving, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and not wearing a seat belt.

State Police, FranklinWednesday — An unknown identity thief scammed a 59-year-old Irwin Township man out of $1,000.The suspect, a police report said, utilized a computer to obtain the victim’s banking information after calling him on the telephone. The money was eventually stolen from the man’s bank account. Police said their investigation continues.

State Police, Clarion8:31 a.m. Thursday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Marian J. Wood, 75, of Grove City struck a tractor-trailer after abruptly crossing from the right lane to the left lane on Interstate 80 eastbound in Richland Township, Clarion County.Wood made the maneuver, according to a police report, while trying to turn onto an emergency vehicle crossover section of the highway. The SUV crossed the median and traveled into westbound traffic, rolling onto its side and blocking both lanes.The crash closed both westbound lanes for several hours. The Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation assisted.Police said Wood was cited for disregarding traffic lanes. Jonathan R. Bortee, 29, of Stowe, Vt., was the other driver.Thursday — Police reported they are investigating a February burglary at American Legion Post 636 in Perry Township, Clarion County. Property inside the building was damaged but a police report did not indicate if anything was stolen in the break-in that happened between Feb. 13 and 27.Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call police at 814-226-1710.

State Police, Kittanning12:15 a.m. today — A 32-year-old Kittanning man is accused of going ballistic at an East Franklin Township home, where he broke two flat-screen televisions, a computer monitor and the front window.The suspect, Roger Lendell Williams, left the house on East Brady Road before returning and breaking another window at the home and the windshield of a vehicle there.At the time of the alleged rampage, a 28-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy were at the house. Police said Williams is charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and public drunkenness.
