BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have a 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday service today.

The Easter Sonrise service will be at 6:30 a.m. at the church. There will be a breakfast at Eat’n Park afterward.

Gordon Thompson will be the vocal soloist for the regular Sunday morning worship service.

There will be no evening Bible study Sunday.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The Easter chancel choir of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will practice at 6:30 p.m. today. The Maundy Thursday service will be at 7:30 p.m. The youths will facilitate the 7:30 p.m. Good Friday service.

There will be no children’s Sunday school on Easter. The children’s choir will sing at both services Sunday.

The church office will be closed Monday.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will have a 6:30 p.m. Good Friday service.

The men’s breakfast for Saturday is canceled.

The Sunday service will include Communion.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

There will be a 7 p.m. prayer meeting today at the YMCA board of trustees room, 339 N Washington St.

Children in preschool through grade 6 can participate in the Eggstreme Easter service for kids Sunday. There will be egg hunts including balloons and bubbles, as well as an Easter message, prizes and candy.

A building fund offering will be taken Sunday.

The Tuesday prayer meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. at 440 W. Pearl St.

EAST BUTLER PRESBYTERIAN

East Butler Presbyterian Church, Ninth and Randolph streets, East Butler, will have a 7 a.m. Easter sunrise service, followed by breakfast. The Sunday worship service will include Holy Communion.

EMORY CHAPEL

Emory Chapel United Methodist Church, 298 Sarver Road, Sarver, will have an 8:30 a.m. Easter Sunday worship service.

FAITH FELLOWSHIP ALLIANCE

Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive, will have a 7 p.m. Good Friday healing service.

FAITH LUTHERAN

Faith Lutheran Church, 241 Freeport Road, Summit Township, will remember Jesus’ passion and death at 7 p.m. Good Friday.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have an 8:30 a.m. Easter Resurrection service and a 9:30 a.m. continental breakfast followed by Sunday school classes and a worship service.

FIRST BAPTIST OF EVANS CITY

First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, will have a 7 p.m. Good Friday service.

For Easter there will be a praise and prayer service at 8:30 a.m., breakfast at 9 a.m., Christian living classes for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and a worship service at 11 a.m.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will have a 7:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday service today, a 10 a.m. Good Friday children’s service and a 7:30 p.m. Good Friday service of light and darkness.

There will be two Easter Sunday services with an Easter brunch between the services.

GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will begin GYMsox flag football practices Saturday.

The after-school program, Ignite, will be from 4:15 to 6:30 p.m. March 31.

GRAVE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will have a 7 p.m. Good Friday service.

Grace’s Closet, the free clothing bank, will be closed and will reopen at April 9.

There will be a Sonrise service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday in Diamond Park. A potluck breakfast will be at 8 a.m. in the social hall. The celebration of the Resurrection worship gathering will be at 10 a.m.

The confirmation class will not meet Easter morning. The church office will be closed Monday.

Men’s Night Out will be at 5:30 p.m. March 31 at T.J.’s Hideaway, 346 Spithaler School Road, Evans City.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Graceway will have a 6:30 p.m. Communion at the foot of the cross service today.

Beth Ackelson and Amber Crowe will provide the special music for the Easter Sunday worship service.

HARVEST COMMUNITY

Harvest Community Church in Petroleum Valley, 118 N. Fairview Main St., Petrolia, will have a Good Friday service with Communion at 7 p.m. Friday.

Easter services will be at 9 and 11 a.m. Children through sixth grade will attend the “Walk with Jesus” event.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will observe Maundy Thursday at a 7:30 p.m. service. The Rev. James Campbell will lead the service and the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated by intinction.

The church office will close at 11:45 a.m. Friday in observance of Good Friday.

Easter celebrations will begin with a 9:15 a.m. Easter morning breakfast in the church fellowship hall. Donations of breakfast egg casseroles and breakfast breads are welcome.

Executive Presbyter the Rev. Alan Adams will speak at the Easter Sunday service. The One Great Hour of Sharing offering will be received.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will celebrate Maundy Thursday with a 6 p.m. Pascal meal followed by a worship service and Communion at 7 p.m.

A Good Friday service will be conducted with the Mars Ministerium at 1 p.m. Lunch will be at noon.

There will be two Easter celebration services Sunday at the regular service times.

The youth group will not meet Sunday.

GriefShare will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday in the library.

MIDDLESEX PRESBYTERIAN

Middlesex Presbyterian Church in America, 116 Church Road, Middlesex Township, will have a 7 p.m. joint Maundy Thursday service with Gospel Fellowship Presbyterian Church. The sacrament of Communion will be celebrated.

The congregation will participate in a 7 p.m. Good Friday service at Gospel Fellowship Presbyterian Church on McFann Road, Valencia.

The church also will celebrate with Gospel Fellowship for a 7:30 a.m. Easter sunrise service.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

New Life Christian Ministries, 139 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, will celebrate Easter with five weekend worship gatherings at 4 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday and at 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

There also will be a 7 p.m. Good Friday worship gathering.

LIFEkidz for age 3 to fifth grade will have a special opportunity to “Experience the Empty Tomb” during the 4 p.m. worship gathering Saturday. Families will participate in “Crack the Egg” — a unique outdoor egg hunt that helps families discover the Easter message — at 5 p.m.

NORTH BUTLER PRESBYTERIAN

North Butler Presbyterian Church, 137 North Butler Church Road, Chicora, will have a 7 p.m. Good Friday Tenebrae service. The service will include Holy Communion and will conclude with a time of total darkness.

The Easter worship service at 11 a.m. will include special music, gifts for children and Holy Communion.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

The youth group of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will serve a meal at the men’s homeless shelter on April 2. Then members will go Cosmic Bowling at Mystic Lanes. The event is for sixth- through 12th-graders and adults.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, will have an Easter sunrise service with Communion at 7 a.m. A festival worship service with Communion will be at 10 a.m. Sunday.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will share Communion at the 7:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday service.

The community Good Friday service will be at noon Friday at Saint Andrews. Several churches will provide leadership and music.

An Easter Sonrise service with Communion will be at 7 a.m. Sunday at the Pleasant Valley Boat Launch at Moraine State Park. Take a chair.

An Easter service at the church will have special music including brass, the chancel choir, the youth handbell choirs and a youth Instrumental Ensemble.

SAXONBURG MEMORIAL

Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 E. Main St., Saxonburg, will have a 7:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday service.

There will be a men’s 6:30 a.m. Good Friday worship service with retired Steeler Steve Avery as guest speaker, and a 9:30 a.m. woman’s Good Friday worship service.

There will be a traditional 7:45 a.m. Easter service in the little church, a 9 a.m. contemporary Easter service in the big church and a 10:45 a.m. blended Easter service in the big church.

THE SOWER'S CHAPEL

The Sowers Chapel, 100 Iron Bridge Road, Sarver, will have a family service with Holy Supper at 6 p.m. today. There will be a message about the meaning of Holy Supper.

An outdoor Easter sunrise service will be at 6:45 a.m. on Cornplanter Road. For more information, call the church at 724-353-2220.

A family Easter festival service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at the church. The service will include an offering of nonperishable food for Freeport’s food bank.

SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury, will celebrate Good Friday at 6 p.m. with a special presentation of “The Traveler” written by the Rev. Dennis Protzman.

The fellowship group will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday to prepare the sanctuary for Easter.

Easter Sunday will be celebrated with a 9:30 a.m. breakfast, followed by an Easter egg hunt and a church service with Holy Communion.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will celebrate Easter Sunday with a 9 a.m. Easter breakfast followed by an 11 a.m. worship service with Holy Communion.

This will be the last week for Tracie Pittman as the cause of the month.

ST. JOHN’S REFORMED

St. John’s Reformed Church, 494 Evans City Road, will have a 2 p.m. Good Friday Community Lenten service. Prelude will be preformed by the bell choir; Norman Tutino will preach.

There will be a 6:30 a.m. Easter Sunrise service. Following the service, breakfast will be served.

There will be an 11 a.m. Easter service also, with Communion served at both services.

ST. JOHN’S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

The Rev. Scott Fuller will be the guest speaker for Sunday’s Easter service at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

There will be an Easter breakfast at 9 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

The consistory will meet at 7 p.m. April 4 in the narthex.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

The confirmation class of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will lead the 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday service commemorating the Last Supper.

The Good Friday teen breakfast will be at 11 a.m. in Centennial Hall. The Tenebrae service will be at 7 p.m. Friday in the sanctuary.

Easter services Sunday will include brass, choirs and Holy Communion. Sunday school will be followed by an egg hunt sponsored by the senior high youths.

The sanctuary will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday for community quiet time. The community bereavement group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will have a 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday service today with Holy Communion and First Holy Communion.

A Good Friday service with Holy Communion will be at noon Friday. A Tenebrae service will be at 7 p.m. Friday.

An Easter Vigil will be at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Holy Communion will be served during worship at both Sunday Easter celebrations.

The church and office will be closed Monday.

Bible Bowl practice will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the church lounge.

ST. PETER'S REFORMED CHURCH

St. Peter’s Reformed Church, 314-320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, will host “The Journey,” an informal worship service, at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the church’s fellowship room. The service is held every Wednesday.

SUMMIT PRESBYTERIAN

Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, will have a 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday worship service.

A joint Good Friday worship service will be at 7 p.m. at Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church.

A community Easter egg hunt for children will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at HIS Kids Christian School.

The Easter sunrise service will be at 7 a.m. There also will be a Sunday worship service at the usual time.

THORN CREEK UNITED METHODIST

Thorn Creek United Methodist Church, 142 Rockdale Road, will have a 1:30 p.m. Good Friday service.

There will be a 7 a.m. Easter Sunday sunrise service followed by breakfast. Another worship service will be at 9:45 a.m.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will close the church office Friday and Monday.

Be at the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday to deliver flowers to shut-ins.

The pastoral staffing task force will meet at 6:30 p.m. March 31.

WHITESTOWN ROAD BAPTIST

Whitestown Road Baptist Church, 409 Whitestown Road, will have a free community outreach breakfast from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

ZION LUTHERAN

Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, will serve Easter breakfast from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Sunday. Worship will follow breakfast. There will be no Sunday school or adult Bible study.
