Butler PoliceMonday — Garett L. Lemmon, 21, of Prospect was charged with drugged driving stemming from a two-car crash March 1 at Hansen Avenue and Pillow Street.Police said the wreck happened when Lemmon ran a red light. Officers later found a marijuana pipe and syringe in his vehicle. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test following the crash.Toxicology reports subsequently showed he had heroin, marijuana and codeine in his system, according to court documents.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Lemmon is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and a red light violation.Monday — Police charged three teenagers after they allegedly were caught last week in a vehicle with suspected marijuana and drug contraband.An officer found the suspects — Stephen C. Coester, 19, of Clay Township; Justin D. Konchar, 19, of Lyndora; and Jacob John Patterson, 18, of Butler — in the vehicle that was parked under the South Main Street bridge about 11:40 p.m. March 15.When Coester opened the driver's seat window for police, court documents said, a “strong odor” of marijuana wafted from the vehicle. He admitted he and the others had been smoking marijuana from a bowl.The trio was searched and police found Konchar and Patterson each with a baggie of suspected marijuana and Coester with a marijuana pipe.Konchar and Patterson are both charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and Coester is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.2:59 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Alberta M. Kroh, 93, of Center Township struck the back of a pickup truck on North Main Street. David L. Bouch, 57, of Center Township was driving the pickup. Police said the accident happened when a vehicle in front of Kroh made a sudden U-turn, and she was did not see the truck in time to stop.

Butler Twp Police10:03 p.m. Saturday — A vehicle driven by Luke Hyde, 18, of Chicora struck the back of another vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign at the travelway between the Dollar General and Walmart at the Butler Commons shopping plaza. Mathilda Wallenbrock, 62, of West Sunbury was the other driver.7:44 p.m. Saturday — Two boys were caught shoplifting $265 worth of merchandise at the Butler Commons' Walmart. Police did not identify the suspects, ages 15 and 17, who both are charged with retail theft.Friday — Bryan J. Farinelli, 40, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a one-vehicle crash last month on Hopewell Avenue. Police said Farinelli lost control of his car about 10:35 p.m. Feb. 14 and hit a set of mailboxes and two parked vehicles.In addition to driving under the influence, he is charged with driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.

Grove City Police12:48 a.m. Saturday — Bryan Mellott, 33, of Stoneboro was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at South Center Street and Tidball Avenue.2:53 p.m. Friday — Shaun Travis, 36, was cited for failing to confine a male pit bull at his home in the 100 block of West Poplar Street. The citation was issued after police got a call that the dog had attacked a neighbor's dog on that neighbor's property.8:53 p.m. Wednesday — Chad Williams, 21, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia on South Broad Street8:58 a.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Louis Hebert, 31, of Grove City ran a red light and struck another vehicle at the intersection of West Main and Breckenridge streets. Police said Herbert was cited for the red light violation and driving with a suspended license.The other driver, Sally Smiley, no age given, of Grove City, suffered unspecified injuries.

State Police, Butler1:21 a.m. Sunday — Zachary P. Doyle, 22, of Cranberry Township was hurt when his sport utility vehicle struck an embankment on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Doyle, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury.Police said they cited Doyle for disregarding traffic lanes.1:35 a.m. Friday — David J. McCullon, 50, of Harrisville was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 just south of Ralston Road in Slippery Rock Township.Thursday — Someone broke into Four Wheeling for Less on Route 422 in Summit Township. A police report said the burglary remains under investigation but provided no other information.

State Police, FranklinMonday — Police reported they are investigating a case of suspected identity theft that targeted a 68-year-old Harrisville man. The crime happened between Jan. 16 and Feb. 19 when the suspect opened financial accounts via the Internet using the victim's personal information.12:01 a.m. March 7 — Dylan K. Craig, 21, of Kennerdell was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a crash on Lisbon Road 0.3 of a mile south of Hickman Road in Scrubgrass Township.

State Police, Kittanning4:37 p.m. Sunday — Joshua A. Zimmerman, 18, of Worthington was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a 46-year-old woman on Valleyview Road in West Franklin Township. Police said the teen used an aluminum crutch to hit the woman, also from Worthington, in the head and neck.The victim suffered undisclosed injuries in the alleged attack.Zimmerman was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $1,500 bail.State Police, Mercer7:19 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Emma J. Bell, 73, of Grove City struck a deer on Route 58 in Delaware Township. The crash launched the deer over the top of the car and into a field. Bell's car continued for another 200 feet before stopping on the side of the road.
