Warrant issued in cash theft

Felon suspected of robbing woman

Butler police have obtained an arrest warrant for a 28-year-old man who they said robbed a woman of $200 at her city home Friday afternoon.

Shane Jacob Summerville, who has no known address, is wanted on charges he stole the money right out of the hands of the alleged victim at the home in the 300 block of Second Street.

Brittany Lambing, 24, told police that the defendant stopped by her apartment about 2:50 p.m. and asked to use her telephone. She said she was holding $200 in currency in her right hand when she opened the door for Summerville, according to court documents.

But when the suspect stepped inside her home, instead of using the phone, he allegedly grabbed both of Lambing's upper arms and snatched the money fromher, police said.

She recounted that Summerville ran out of the apartment and drove away in a red vehicle that was parked up the street, a police affidavit said.

Investigators said Lambing had apparent minor injuries in the incident, including red marks and small scratches on the back of both arms.

District Judge William Fullerton on Monday issued an arrest warrant for Summerville, a convicted drug felon, on a charge of robbery.
