AUBURNDALE, Fla. — You can say this much about the Slippery Rock University baseball team: The Rock knows how to rebound.

Following a 15-0 loss in the first game of a doubleheader against West Chester on Wednesday, SRU tallied 20 hits in a 17-1 triumph in Game 2.

Senior Alex Bell went 4-for-5 with a home run and seven RBI to lead the onslaught, which included a pair of four-run innings (third, sixth).

Tyler Walters added a three-hit day with three runs scored and three RBI.

Seneca Valley graduate Carson Kessler had a single and one run batted in.

Grove City High School product Jon Anderson pitched all seven innings for the win, striking out seven and walking three. He allowed just one earned run on three hits for The Rock (4-12).

Women's Lacrosse

Erin Wilcox scored four goals and added two assists Tuesday to lead the Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team to an 18-10 victory over Young Harris College (Ga.).

Kaytlin Callaghan added four goals and an assist for SRU (2-0), giving her 99 career goals. Ally Culhane, Tia Torchia and Anna-Marie Warrington each scored two goals.

Jordan Wagner made five saves to notch the win in goal.

The Rock ends its three-game Florida trip by facing No. 6 Rollins at 6 p.m. Friday in Winter Haven.
