Penn Theater's neonsign to be repaired
Penn Theater on Main Street will see work to its front and rear, said Mayor Tom Donaldson Thursday, with the building’s neon lighting due to be fixed and no trespassing signs installed behind the building.
Donaldson announced the work at Thursday’s meeting of the city’s Redevelopment Authority. He said the signs behind the building would signal a no-nonsense approach to trespassing, with violators being charged.
The repair of the building’s neon lighting, which will be paid for by a third party, is something Donaldson called a positive step in the building’s rehabilitation.
“There’s been some interest in Penn Theater,” Donaldson said. “Everything we do there gets people’s attention.”
There was no immediate information on how much the lighting repairs would cost, or when the work would be done.
