Ruling on cause of Zelie man's death a month away

MARION TWP, Beaver County — It is expected to take about a month before the Beaver County coroner rules on the cause of death of a Zelienople man.

Andrew Verba’s body was found Thursday night in woods near the Beaver-Butler County line not far from his girlfriend’s car, which he reportedly had driven.

Coroner David Gabauer said Saturday morning that his office did an autopsy Friday afternoon, but that it would be about four weeks before a ruling on the cause and manner of death is made.

The discovery of Verba’s body came several hours after his parents called Zelienople police to report their 25-year-old son missing, authorities said.

Verba lived with his parents on Hazel Street.

Rudy Harkins, Marion Township police chief, would not comment on the investigation.

Verba’s parents on Friday also did not want to comment.
