SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — A 38-year-old township woman was arrested Thursday night after she headed-butted a trooper and hit him in the head with her cell phone, state police said.

Kara Anne Kendziorski was placed in the Butler County Prison following the altercation with police outside her home.

Police were called there about 7:40 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute involving her father. During the investigation, according to court documents, the defendant screamed obscenities at Trooper James Long, who instructed her to return to the house.

She later began struggling with the trooper during which she grabbed his shirt and collar and yanked off his tie, police said.

After falling onto her back, documents said, Kendziorski hit Long in the head with her cell phone. While she tried to get to her feet, she allegedly head-butted the tropper.

Long forced the suspect to the ground and held her until another trooper got there and helped place her in handcuffs.

Still, police said, Kendziorski acted up. She is accused of spitting in Long’s face while being placed in his patrol car.

District Judge William O’Donnell arraigned the defendant on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. She is being held in the county prison on $25,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday at O’Donnell’s office in Slippery Rock.
