Several bowlers qualify for Tournament of Stars

BUTLER TWP — Family Bowlaway hosted a Tournament of Stars qualifier last weekend.

Among the bowlers to qualify for the Tournament of Stars finals — slated for 10 a.m. April 3 at Sherwood Lanes — are Nick Huff, Jeffrey Cupp, Karlee Arendt, Derek Weaver and Hali Hartley.

Huff, carrying a 198 average, rolled a 532 series to win the average 176-up division. His high game was 228.

Cupp averages 170 and won the 161-175 division by rolling a 232-617. Arendt, who also averages 170, rolled a 201-562.

Weaver averages 159 and won the 146-160 division with a 188-535 while Hartley, averaging 156, rolled a 211-523.

Qualifiers from the 131-145 division were Madison Ferringer with a 210-583 and Sierra Koerbel with a 204-534. Ferringer averages 150, Koerbel 140. Koerbel’s 204 was her first-ever 200 game.

Amy McCombs, averaging 127, rolled a 145-418 to win the 116-130 division. Eric DeVore, averaging 112, rolled a 156-429 (720 handicap) to win the up to 115-average division.

Also qualifying in the up to 115 division were Hayden Shirley with a 158-409 (715 handicap)and Eli Rieger with a 101-291 (708 handicap).

There are 45 kids qualified overall for the finals.
