Butler PoliceSunday — Jonathan A. Angello, 18, of Renfrew was charged with misdemeanor drug possession, two weeks after police caught him with suspected psychedelic mushrooms in the 100 block of West New Castle Street.Police about 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6 found Angello walking in back of the PNC bank drive-through. While talking with officers, according to court documents, the suspect began “dropping sandwich baggies out of his coat pockets.”The teen was searched, police said, and found with three baggies containing a combined 16.7 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, a digital scale and marijuana drug.Angello is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Butler Township Police7:29 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Prospect girl rear-ended another vehicle in the 400 block of Evans City Road. The collision forced the other vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old Butler boy into the back of a third vehicle driven by Shauna McChesney, 32, of Evans City.No one was injured, but two of the vehicles had to be towed away.

State Police, Butler1:13 a.m. Wednesday — Brandon E. Reep, 41, of Karns City was arrested for drunken driving after he was stopped for speeding on Euclid Road at Thompsontown Road in Clay Township.Police said they smelled a “strong odor” of alcohol while speaking to Repp. He admitted that he had four drinks in Pittsburgh, according to court documents.A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.148 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to driving under the influence, Reep is charged with driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.
