BLT to stage ‘Inherit the Wind’Butler Little Theatre’s 75th anniversary season continues with “Inherit the Wind” by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee.This play stems from the Scopes trial, a Tennessee legal case involving the teaching of evolution in public schools.BLT’s producer is Danyle Solomon-Verzinskie.Show dates are March 11 to 13 and 15 to 19. Group performs Easter cantataJEFFERSON TWP — The Concordia Alleluia Chorale will perform its annual Easter cantata at 7 p.m. March 22 in the Haven I Dining Room at 112 Marwood Road. Admission is free.The cantata, “The Ultimate Gift,” was written and directed by Concordia Haven III resident Carol Oliver.The Chorale is made up of more than 30 participants, including Concordia residents and employees and community members.Following the cantata, refreshments will be served. Aviary offers free admissionPITTSBURGH — A penguin birthday party and free admission to people whose birthday falls on Feb. 29 highlight events planned at the National Aviary in celebration of Leap Year 2016.At 11:30 a.m. Sunday and Monday, a Penguin Parade will be held to celebrate Kaden the African penguin’s “first” birthday. Kaden was hatched on Feb. 29, one of the first penguin chicks hatched at the aviary.On Monday, visitors with Leap Year birthdays will receive free admission with proof of birthday. Regular admission is $14 for adults and $13 for children ages 2 to 12 and senior citizens.The aviary is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.For more information, visit aviary.org.
