BC3 will host novelist at upcoming fundraiser
BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College will host a fundraiser for its literary magazine Facets on March 11, featuring novelist Lisa Harris.
Harris teaches at BC3 and the Community College of Allegheny County. She will sign books available for purchase after her reading.
The event will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Bennitt House at BC3’s main campus, 107 College Drive.
Harris’ second novel, “Allegheny Dream,” focuses on the secrets and hopes of four generations of Pennsylvanians. Her first novel, “‘Geechee Girls” is set in coastal Georgia.
Harris is working on three more novels, including a sequel to “‘Geechee Girls.” She is a graduate of Bard College, Armstrong Atlantic University and SUNY Cortland and has a master’s degree in creative writing from the Avery Graduate School of the Arts.
There is a donation of $5 at the door, and refreshments will be provided.
