Saxonburg mayor dies at 67
Saxonburg is mourning the loss of its mayor.
Pam Bauman, 67, passed away Wednesday of an unspecified type of cancer at 3:30 p.m. at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Bauman was elected mayor in 2013. Before that she served on the borough council. She also owned Mimi's Memories Antiques and Gifts on Main Street.
“Anytime you needed something, she was always there to help you,” said District Judge Sue Haggerty, who has known Bauman since the 1970s.
Haggerty described Bauman as a very giving and helpful person.
Bauman and her husband, Bob, owned Bauman Bus Co. for many years before retiring and moving to North Carolina.
Bauman also was involved in the Saxonburg Area Business Association and the GFWC Saxonburg District Woman's Club.
