SR woman, 23, accused in theft case
SLIPPERY ROCK — A former Slippery Rock University student faces a hearing Wednesday on charges she broke into a friend’s dormitory and stole a debit card.
The suspect, Creanna Martin, 23, of Slippery Rock, is already awaiting trial in two separate cases — one for running naked across campus last summer.
Martin was a distance runner on the women’s track team when she attended SRU last year. She is no longer a student there, according to a university spokesman.
In the latest case, Martin is accused of entering a friend’s dormitory Feb. 4 and stealing a debit card from a purse, SRU police said. She did not have the friend’s permission to be there Feb. 4 when she entered the apartment.
She allegedly took the owner’s debit card and used it to buy a prescription of Adderall pills from a Slippery Rock drugstore. Adderall is a drug used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Martin admitted to her friend Feb. 8 that she took the debit card, documents said. She allegedly acknowledged taking “the entire bottle” of Adderall within a day’s time.
Martin was arraigned last week on felony charges of burglary and criminal trespass, and misdemeanor charges of identity theft, defiant trespass, access device fraud, forgery and theft.
She was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.
A preliminary hearing is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the office of District Judge William O’Donnell in Slippery Rock.
Martin is no stranger to SRU police. A university officer on July 31 arrested her after she allegedly led an officer on a cross-campus streaking dash that took her in and out of the Morrow Field House and nearby West Lake Pond.
Police did not find Martin’s clothes until two days later. Among her belongings, documents said, was a bottle of Adderall pills.
The prescription, police said, belonged to a man, who claimed she stole them.
She is charged in that case with resisting arrest, open lewdness, disorderly conduct and drug possession. Those charges are pending in Butler County Court.
Also pending in county court are felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from a bad check case in April 2015.
