Cranberry hit by 6 burglaries since November

CRANBERRY TWP — The township police are asking residents to be on the look out for suspicious activity after a string of burglaries in the past couple months.

There have been six burglaries reported in the southwestern portion of the township between Nov. 16 and Feb. 12, according to a news release.

The suspect is described as a young white female with a petite build, often wearing a hooded sweat shirt with the hood pulled up.

The incidents have occurred late at night and two occurred within minutes of each other.

Several residents reported speaking to or seeing the suspect, though she made an excuse for being on the property or ran away. In one case, she allegedly yelled that she had a gun as she fled.

The suspected has entered houses through unlocked doors and also by forced entry. She allegedly has taken cash and prescription medication from the homes.

The department, in the release, asked for the suspect to turn herself in.

The police recommend residents keep doors and windows secured and call 911 to report anything suspicious.
