Pgh. North Regional Chamber celebrates

5 Business Excellence Awards are presented

ALLEGHENY COUNTY — The Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber honored a number of people Tuesday evening at its annual meeting and awards ceremony for 2015 at the Holy Trinity Center.

Five Business Excellence Awards were presented.

The Distinguished Business Award was given to Hosanna Industries Inc. for its commitment to quality and integrity and to displaying honorable and ethical business practices. Hosanna Industries provides construction services to low-income families.

The Prestigious Business Leader Award was presented to George Guiley of Jergel’s Rhythm Grille for personal and professional characteristics, including honesty, sincerity, integrity, benevolence and fairness, while helping the betterment of the community. Located in Warrendale, Jergel’s Rhythm Grille is a music and entertainment venue and restaurant.

The Outstanding Volunteer Service Award was given to John McCool of Legal Shield and Identity Theft for outstanding volunteer service on behalf of the chamber.

The Women Entrepreneur Excellence Award was given to Sally Power with Treasure House Fashions of Pittsburgh for contributing to the community and the local economy. Treasure House Fashions is a nonprofit, quality women’s resale clothing shop serving women in transition or crisis.

The Young Professional of the Year Award was given to Amanda Becker with Hosanna Industries. This goes to a professional under the age of 40 who demonstrates professional capabilities, leadership and service to the community.

The event included a presentation of 2015 highlights and 2016 goals.

Board Chairman Lisa Hunt started the meeting, and executive director Jim Boltz discussed what the chamber did in the past year and what its plans are for 2016.

Hunt also announced that Boltz was promoted to chamber president, and Megan Julius was promoted to vice president of marketing and events.

The event was sponsored by Huntington National Bank and First Commonwealth Bank.
