Cornelius Brown dropped 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team picked up a 79-74 PSAC-West home victory over Edinboro Wednesday night.

The Rock, which led 42-33 at halftime, shot 27-of-53 (51 percent) from the field.

Erik Raleigh added 14 points and Abdul King 13 for SRU (12-10, 7-9).

CCAC 91, Butler County Community College 84 —Austin Miller (33 points, 11 assists) and Ken Snead (26 points) both had impressive games, but the Pioneers fell on the road.

Jake Anderson added 10 rebounds for BC3 (2-21, 2-8).

Women’s Basketball

Even though it featured four players scoring in double figures, SRU could not overcome visiting Edinboro in a 78-70 setback.

Ciara Patterson scored 19 points to pace The Rock, which was on the wrong end of a 47-32 battle on the glass.

Lexi Carpenter added 15 points for SRU (11-11, 7-9), while Megan Hardiman scored 11 and Morgan Henderson had 10.
