Butler Police11:59 a.m. Tuesday — Tijuan M. Phillips, 25, of Oakland Township was caught allegedly placing two bottles of muscle-enhancement pills in his back pack at the Rite Aid store on South Main Street. The merchandise is valued at $155.Phillips was arraigned on a misdemeanor count of retail theft, and released on nonmonetary bail.
Butler Twp Police9:59 p.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Michael B. Marzullo, 39, of Butler struck several mailboxes and a drain culvert pipe along Dutchtown Road.11:53 p.m. Jan. 21 — Christopher Price, 23, of Butler lost control of his car and hit the center median before traveling up an embankment and flipping onto its side on Route 8 near Hansen Avenue. Police cited Price for driving at an unsafe speed.
Grove City PoliceWednesday — An unknown thief overnight made off with a small amount of money after breaking into an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of West Poplar Street.6:31 p.m. Monday — Bradley J. Grossman, 21, of Grove City was arrested after police were called for a fight at the Marathon convenience store on West Main Street.Grossman, who is charged with harassment in connection with the fight call, was later placed in the Mercer County Jail on an unrelated warrant and parole detainer.
State Police, Kittanning1:31 p.m. Monday — A 26-year-old Saxonburg man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in Ford City. Police did not identify the driver or his passenger, a 25-year-old Saxonburg woman, who both were caught with suspected drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending.12:45 a.m. Monday — Nicholas C. Beck, 25, of Kittanning was arrested after leading police on a high-speed, high-on-drugs chase in West Franklin Township. Troopers first spotted Beck when he ran a stop sign at Pine Hill and Butler roads.When police tried to stop the suspect, he sped away on Butler Road. He was eventually stopped on Yellow Dog Road in the township. Troopers said they suspected he was impaired by drugs.Additionally, according to a police report, he was found to be wanted by state parole authorities.Beck was arraigned on a felony charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.Police also handed the defendant 18 traffic tickets. Among the violations was driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, driving at an unsafe speed, failing to stop at a stop sign, careless driving and reckless driving.Beck was placed in the Mercer County Jail on $10,000 bail following arraignment.5:30 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Riley E. Shankle, 16, of Cowansville struck the side of a ditch and rolled over, landing on its wheels on Tarrtown Road in East Franklin Township. Police said Riley was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.6:32 p.m. Jan. 16 — Richelle A. Livengood, 22, of Kittanning lost control of her sport utility vehicle and hit an embankment, flipping the SUV onto its side on Route 422 just east of County Line Road in West Franklin Township.Police cited Livengood for driving too fast for conditions.
