Diversity film series beginsCRANBERRY TWP — Matinee, Mumble and Munch, Cranberry’s multicultural movie matinee series, will begin with the film “English Vinglish” at noon Saturday.The Cranberry Diversity Network is hosting the series. Admission is free.The first film installment is about an Indian woman transplanted to New York whose lack of English becomes a major source of insecurity for herself and her family.After the 134-minute showing in Cranberry Public Library’s Franklin Station room, guests can share an assortment of Indian hors d’oeuvres and participate in a discussion led by Yasmin Purohit, a Sewickley resident who serves as the chief diversity and inclusion officer at Robert Morris University.Other films in the series are scheduled for March 5 and April 23.Reservations are required and may be made at www.CranberryLibrary.org/RegisterOnline.

Winter hike for veterans setMUDDY CREEK TWP — A winter hike for veterans and their families will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 20 starting from Pavilion 1 on the South Shore of Moraine State Park.Service members and their families are invited to join the winter hike of about two miles in moderate terrain. If there are four or more inches of snow, some snowshoes will be available to borrow.
