CRANBERRY TWP — Police report the body of a 55-year-old woman was found Wednesday afternoon in a room at the Red Roof Inn on Route 19.

The Butler County coroner’s office determined the woman died from self-inflicted wounds, police said. During the investigation, information was discovered that the woman may have harmed her mother at their shared residence in Buffalo, N.Y.

Buffalo police found the woman’s 85-year-old mother dead at the family home.

The two police departments have concluded that the incidents are related and are being considered a murder-suicide.

Neither woman’s identity is being released at this time.
