A bald eagle has been staying on the Route 38 property of Earl and Jane Young north of Eau Claire for about a week. The eagle has been feasting on a dead deer that has been in the Young’s field for more than a month. The couple reported that the eagle flies off when people approach or if vehicles stop to watch. To get photographs of it, they had to hide behind a railing on the porch and use a 300 mm lens on their camera. They consider the sighting a “once in a lifetime event.”
